The Management Staff (Ted, Andy, Russell and Rick) met to discuss, obtain consensus, and determine action items for each of the agenda items below:

1) Team “Owner” and Trading Paint:

Consensus: In iRacing, the person who creates a “team” is the “team owner” and only their Trading Paint skin is loaded for team events. In addition, vApex has multiple, outdated, and confusing team names to choose from when attempting to join a team for an event. Consequently, some housekeeping is necessary. Once the Action Item (below) is implemented, only the current DGFX teams should have “vApex Racing Group” teams and the Team Managers will be responsible for creating (owning) the team, making sure their team mates are members, and loading the correct Team Livery. Additional vApex Racing Group teams need to occur organically as the need arises (e.g.: teams for the upcoming Sebring event).

Action Item: Every vApex Team Member who created (owns) an iRacing Team that is not being used needs to delete their iRacing team.

2) Upcoming Team Night Events:

Consensus: During 2017, we will schedule 4 Team Night Events. The first will be Driver Development and scheduled during February or March. The second will be a Telemetry session in April - June. The third will be Driver Development (July-September) and the final event will be Telemetry (Oct-Dec).

Action Items:

  • Russell will select the car & track for our 1st Drive Development event; Andy will schedule the event on a Sunday afternoon during February or March. Andy will make the Team Announcement.

  • Rick and Andy will work on desktop sharing software in preparation for the Telemetry sessions.

3) Team Communications:

Consensus: Staff is committed to evaluating ways to improve Team communications. We agreed email will likely remain a primary communication tool and changes without functional improvement are not favored. Consequently, we agreed to evaluate Discord as a possible replacement for TeamSpeak. In addition, we are committed to evaluating Team Forum methods.

Action Items:

  • Discord & TeamSpeak: Rick will work with Bart (and possibly others) to evaluate Discord and TeamSpeak. We will compare the pros & cons of each and provide an evaluation and recommendation to Management Staff.

  • Google: Andy (and possibly others) will evaluate Google resources to determine if their applications may improve communications and provide a forum structure. Andy will also evaluate establishing a new Team GoogleDrive.

  • Forum: Russell will work with German (and possibly others) to evaluate various forum applications like Slack, Yahoo Groups, What’s Up, etc. to potentially create a forum for Team use.

4) Assistant Team Manager:

We want to thank everyone who showed some interest in assisting the Team and welcome the following to our Management Staff.

  • Assistant Team Manager: Shane Norton. Shane will be another management staff member and assist with Team management and communications.

  • Twitter Czar: J.C. Arnold. JC will manage our Twitter account and provide race report tweets during team events. He will also make tweets as necessary and appropriate to update the Team regarding other Team events or racing in general (e.g.: Sage driving for vApex Racing Group).

  • Facebook Czar: Jeff Yeager. Jeff will manage our Facebook account and post appropriate Team-related article, pictures, etc. He will also post updates as appropriate regarding Team events or racing in general (e.g.: Sage driving for vApex Racing Group).
