vApex Drivers have GREAT Daytona Weekend!
Three vApex Teams competed in the Friday Running of the 24 Hours of Daytona last weekend with the Green Team coming away with a Win in the vApex C7 Corvette DP in the First Split. Drivers German Afanador, Kurt Gross, Kevin Linden, and Erich Smith guided their Prototype home to a 38 second win after being down by numerous laps earlier in the event due to an incident.
Also in the first split, the Gold Team with Sean Fleming, Mikey Grems, Clifton Naranjo, Domenic Oppedisano, and Brad Salmon finished 6th in GTE in their vApex Ferrari 488 GTE. Right behind them was the vApex Red Team with Chuck Chambliss, Rick McClure, Shane Norton, Gary Perry, and Randall Walsh in their vApex Ferrari 488 GTE.
In the 2nd Split, the vApex Blue Team finished on the Podium in GTE with their vApex Ferrari 488 GTE. The car was driven by Andy Banfield, Brian Barney, Jeff Parsons, and Jeff Yeager.
In the Saturday Event, the vApex Purple team, comprised of Clark Archer, Taylor Bookout, Russell Klaesson, and Alex Saunders finished 7th in their Mercedes AMG GT3 in the First Split of GTD.
The weekend was capped off with the 4 Majors League Teams competing in the 2.4 Hours of Daytona. Alex Saunders took the win in GTD in the Americas Pro Split. That propels the Americas Team into 1st place in the Team Standings at the Beginning of the Year!
