vApex Returns to League Hosting

In 2010, the Virtual Apex (vApex) Racing Group was formed by a bunch of California based drivers who were running in online leagues that were developed by Darin Gangi. vApex's founder, Ted Severns, took over the league, known as the SSCA when Darin's internet TV career took off. Several spin off leagues were formed as the membership of vApex expanded beyond California to the continental US and eventually Canada, Europe, and Australia.

As the years have passed, many members of the team have tried different leagues and the most popular always seemed to be the IndyCar. The IndyCar has always been a favorite of the team and many real life fans populate our team's roster.

So, the time seemed right to get back into League Hosting. Starting on January 29, 2019, the vApex Racing Group IndyCar Series will begin. The season will be 16 races at traditional IndyCar venues in the iRacing Universe. Races are setup to be about 50% of the real life races which should have Road Course and Short Oval races going about 1 hour and the Superspeedway races at about 1 1/2 hours. This should give folks on the East Coast a chance to be in bed before 10:30 PM.

This League will be all about pride and joy. There are no cash prizes. There is no entry fee. This League is all about enjoying the Dallara IR-18 and the companionship of friends and racers. This is not going to be the place for drama, or ego, or brashness. We do take this car seriously and quite personally. If we don't like how a driver is treating the car or the League, they will be gone. This is about the only thing we are serious about.

Our rulebook I think is about 3 pages long...Not much to dive into for loop holes and exploits. It's mainly common sense and driving as a pro would. If everyone abides by these things, we are going to have an amazing time!

The League is going to be using some "NEW" scoring algorithms and Race Control items that we really think you all will enjoy. There are going to be many sub-championships (Street Course, Road King, Short Oval and Triple Crown) and chances for drivers to remain in the overall championship hunt for as long as possible. That's what keeps healthy fields well into a full season.

We truly hope that you will enjoy our IndyCar Series and will be as excited about it as we are!!
